Our Story

One fine day on the St. Mark's Washington D.C. Passion retreat, Sarah and Mike were fervently seeking spiritual growth when an unexpected turn of events took place: a mutual friend introduced Mike to Sarah. Sarah was taken aback by Mike's charm and Mike was floored by her beauty. Hurdles were initially present – Sarah was not interested in long distance relationships and Mike's name tag said he was from Boston, and Mike was afraid of gold digging, trifling women. Luckily, Mike was actually from New Jersey, and Sarah was worth more than her weight in gold. After a weekend of cat and mouse chase, Mike mustered up the courage to ask Sarah for her phone number, which, despite popular belief, had nothing to do with the inquisition from her friend. In fact, Mike's intentions all along were to get to know Sarah better. The very next day, Mike asked Sarah to a romantic date in Philadelphia involving a walk in the rain and Italian ice. Sarah had the lime gelato and it was magical. The date wasn't bad, either.

Over the next year, they continued to grow closer together and couldn't imagine a future without the other. With the prayers and blessings of their parents, families, friends, and priests, Mike proposed to Sarah on his birthday. They celebrated a beautiful engagement and look forward to a wonderful and blessed wedding day to share with their loved ones.

"For this reason a man shall
leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife, and
the two shall become one flesh."

Mark 10:7
